Prince Charles - Dalai Lama - A green frog and rainforests

The Fastest moving viral green we have yet seen is the Rainforest Project headed by HRH The Prince of Wales. The focal point of the campaign is a 90 second public awareness film in which HRH The Prince of Wales with his sons and an array of well-known faces including Harrison Ford, the Dalai Lama, Daniel Craig and Robin Williams.

The Frog above and Kermit, are of course featured. See our Other Posts: Ecologic and Deforestation with Sting - CTNgreen has been on about this issue all year.

Each person in the film expresses their support for the halting of tropical rainforest deforestation, and is joined on-camera by an animated Argentinean Horned Frog. The frog, created by the CGI experts behind The Golden Compass, serves as a symbol of the rainforest

The film was broadcast online for the first time a few days ago with a tailored message from The Prince of Wales being webcast on a variety of websites, including the social networking site MySpace. As the webcast was transmitted, the public awareness film was shown at The Prince’s Rainforests Project launch event, attended by the Prince of Wales at London’s National Geographic Store.

Support for the cause can be demonstrated by the public by signing up on this website or by texting SOS and their email address to 60777*.

We were already in the middle of crafting a large spread on deforestation as 20% of the climate change issue ( and specifically how tropical rainforests need to be preserved,) when this came out. I think that is total karma-synergy because we had no idea Prince Charles was about to launch this until it hit the media. The frog is much better than our charts maps and graphs for sure, and you will need to hold on just a bit longer while we revise our work to fit in with this honorable effort.

Great to see people coming together on such an important topic. Governments need to compel business to act responsibly.
