Happy New Moments

champagne bottleHappy New Year Everyone!

In our culture the beginning of a new year is celebrated (yay!), but it’s also used as a time for us to make improvements to our lives. We don’t have to wait for anything! Everyday is New! Our moments are our January 1st’s!

Change starts with a thought, which when feels right, morphs into an action. If we keep our thoughts simple then maybe it’ll be easier for us to stick to the personal improvement contract we make with ourselves.

I like moments because change occurs immediately in them…Gratification immediadante!

If we decide we want to lose weight, save money, clean our houses, give away stuff, create something, hang out with friends more, be kinder, change bad relationships, be more responsible, more loving toward family, spend time sharing…this is all positive stuff! So the thought here is to be happier & do good things & we know that we will feel happier when we do these things…now where’s the action?

Ideas like these are exciting because we know what’s right & wrong, good & bad…our body’s soul has a thermastat that registers these ideas into anticipated feelings…the pull toward that good feeling is what motivates us to take action…isn’t that amazing?

Change starts with a thought! What will you be thinking about? We can use our moments wisely by making sure our thoughts are doing some good, somehow. Let’s value our moments because they accumulate no matter what we do.

Let’s do it with commitment & gusto!

Happy everything,

Randi B.

I Liked You Better When You Were Fat…

Buddha JoySomeone very dear to me lost a bunch of weight & became a meanie. I liked him better when he was a chub. I’ve been noticing this transformation since my high school days, when girls would return from summer vacation with a new nose, no glasses, less acne and all of a sudden spectacularly beautiful…physically. I love to see people look great but what’s interesting is that sometimes they becomes meaner and snobbier than they were when they were just a regular person. Is that human nature? For some, I guess… I also know people who were a lot nicer & had more fun when they had way less money. What’s that about?

The irony is that most of us want more…to look great, to have more money, etc…but what’s funny is that sometimes people are more miserable…but why? I don’t know, but one of my girlfriends, who’s kind of a who’s who, has noticed that people are becoming nicer now that we’re in a recession. I’m kinda noticing it too! Could it be that we don’t feel the need to compete over who has it all? Are we collectively figuring out that The Soul Needs No Money? I hope so.

Hopefully when things become economically better, the majority of people will continue to be nice. Mean people contribute nothing good to the positive collective energy of our environment. Their negative energy is a pollutant! Being nice is always chic.

There is no such thing as ugly, when someone is kind!

Let’s Try to…

happy Penguinstay strong, happy & solid when people and things around us need an extra boost of positive energy. To counterbalance the negativity in the world, we need to double & triple up on our positive influence to make up for the void.

Doubt is the first thing, not to do! That opens up the gateway to negative thinking…& No Gossiping!!

Certainty is the first concept to grab on tightly to! Everything is ok, and will continue to be ok…”Life is what happens when you’re busy doing other things,” John Lennon from ‘Beautiful Boy’…(love that sweet chorus).

Yup, life happens, crappola happens, always did, always will…But, so what?! That’s not the only stuff that makes up life!  Let’s choose to look at the good stuff, find the things that work well & be in awe of it, be wise enough to know that miracles happen in front of our eyes, focus on the things that make sense, know there’s enough of everything to go around, be creative not competitive, cry when you want to cry, but be sure to laugh at something else later, hug someone for no reason, be available to give respect & attention to everyone, don’t create problems that aren’t there, enjoy the quiet bliss of nothingness, feel grateful for just being here & having choices, purposely tell yourself that you want to feel joy & be happy, make wise decisions that will take you there, be around positive influences: people, places & things, know that it all matters, get excited about & give, give, give, and give some more!! Don’t waste one nano second on anything negative…the circuitry of giving will come back to you, just like a boomerang…be ready for the good stuff, it’s already here & more is coming!

Get read & make room for the Joy,

Are We Happy Yet?

surfer on the beachThat’s a loaded question…but what do you think? Umm I mean, what do you feel?  We have a natural built in thermastat (our gut feeling) that allows us to determine if we’re living our lives authentically. Happiness is a conscious choice. We need to make sure that we want to be happy before it can happen. Ask yourself, then wait…you’ll feel your answer!

I totally believe that there are two dominant systems ruling our universe, mind, soul, & bodies… The Positive & the Negative…kinda like black & white. Since we can’t control or patrol people, places & things, what’s left? Our own conscious direction!! What are our choices? Positive & Negative. The details of our lives can very easily get in the way of us waking up & feeling our lives…only then can we determine what direction we’re going in, by it feeling good (right) or not (oops…turn around!). At that point (we’re still consciously awake) we can determine what we want & who we really need to be. The Positive & Negative choices are always there in front of us…by living in the present moment, taking responsibility for our own joy, not looking for blame, consciously choosing the direction we want to live in, knowing we can create the way we want our lives to feel, we can realistically & lovingly navigate our way, to where we’re meant to go.

It’s simple & not easy, but so what? What else does our conscious mind & gut instinct need to do, if not work on feeling happy? Give them a job! Pick a direction & let ‘em loose…have certainty that the joy is coming!!

Peace & Freedom,

Randi B.
