Global Computing Ecosystem
If you stop and think for a bit, about the ecosystems we are preserving and attending to, and the nature of nature, then you must also recognize that humankind has created many of its own ecosystems.
The web is now the most democratized and open ecosystem ever in history. The Web, like natural ecosystems, is integrated into an inherent survival tactic that has caused it to be self-sustaining. It is the only large scale machine that has never stopped working, and the allegory to a life-form is obvious, as each cell in the body of a living being is connected through a circulatory system.
Future thinking people fascinate me in this regard, hence my interest in TED. In particular this video below, may well be the coolest 19 minutes you can spend today.
Tackle that & take a look at Kevin Kelly running you though the process of realizing the ecosystem of the global web.
Basically WE are the Web or the Web is US so to speak, as a symbiotic cybersystem that followed the darwinian flow of evolution in a nearly perfect and very accelerated way.
Of all the things that go wrong and went wrong in the past, at least this eco-system is one that is going well.
