The Greencars - Chevy VOLT by FRONTLINE
In this financial climate, General Motors wants 25billion and a merger ( or 2 ) to keep itself alive. Yet More low interest loans that are 12 times the amounts Lee Iacocca bartered in the last Gas Crisis that got us the Kcar from Chrysler.
In the meantime Toyota and Honda have produced concept prototypes for the next generation with new hybrids, plugins and fuelcell cars. These were welcomed into all the economies of the planet, and seem to undergo tech improvement of some sort every 15 months. GM has basically nothing ready yet and plenty of promises. Jamie Lee Curtis is driving one of the first Hydrogen Fuelcell cars by Honda, a first run of a total concept lifecycle design that includes home-refueling and home heating/power in a very very green way.

When we researched a segment for our upcoming magazine article on several next-gen greencars and hybrids, we found out a great deal about the Chevy Volt , Tesla and more. There is a lot of useful history to recognize. Hence its a bit of a challenge to make such reporting in too much of a summary fashion, but in the coming weeks we will run several pieces on that.
In the meantime, we suggest a look at the Video segment produced by PBS FRONTLINE at:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/heat/view/7.html
( the 7th segment of a full report named “HEAT” has a good intro segment on Detriot’s misfires on Greening the Cars we should drive.)
Many of the points made are in-line with our observations, the 16minutes of your time to review.
