In talking to a friend about Green Design, i mentioned a competition by CEA and Core77 for Green Gadgets… the response was.. HUH? Hence this quick rundown since it should be widespread knowledge. and we like Core77 for all they do.

GREENER GADGETS

Last year Founders Marc Alt and Jill Fehrenbacher with help from CEA had an event with a simple message - design a greener gadget in one month, get a small award and some quality recognition. It worked, really well, a lot of people found out and either responded or attended or wrote about it. Ok so why do we like this?… Its fun and makes you think, and finally there is a greeniac event with some style in the humor that is not all preachy about sustainable efforts. ( ED NOTE: Speaking for myself as a designer/author, more green fun is way better than being beat-up about yet more plastic bags and kitchen composting. )

This Years event is in NYC at McGraw-Hill Conference Center, 1221 Avenue of the Americas ( basically 6th ave ) - New York, NY
